Visit Southern Africa
This page is all about what to do during a 2 week visit to Southern Africa. If you have 2 weeks for your visit to Southern Africa, then fly in to Joburg, spend 2 nights in Joburg, preferably over the weekend so that you can visit the Rooftop MArket in the Norwood Mall and Maboneng, and then go to the Waterberg for game viewing in a game lodge.
After that return to Joburg and fly to George. George is the gateway to Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Sedgefield and Mossel Bay. Spend 3-4 days in one of these towns or maybe 2 nights each in 2 different towns. Also take a trip to Oudtshoorn to see the ostriches.
Then fly from George to Cape Town. You could spend 3 weeks in Cape Town and not see everything but in 5 days you will have a chance to go up Table Mountain, take the catamaran from the V&A Waterfront to Robben Island, go to Cape Point, go to the Winelands in Stellenbosch, Paarl or Franschhoek and perhaps drive along the West Coast to Langebaan or along the coast through Gordon’s Bay to Hermanus. If your visit is between June and November you may well see whales as you drive along the coast.
From Cape Town return to Johannesburg and then fly to Victoria Falls and back. You have the choice of flying to the town of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or to Livingstone in Zambia.
